Partnering is so important

Senior Support Solutions has proven to be incredibly helpful to us in a variety of ways. We are taking care of dad’s needs from out-of-state so finding someone available and trustworthy is so important. On more than one occasion we needed to secure medication management on a very tight schedule. Our care manager was available and calmed my concerns over the situation by taking care of all the details. Communication has exceeded my expectations, and she frequently goes above and beyond the call of duty. She always leaves care decisions in the hands of the family so there are no surprises.

Managing a difficult situation

I don’t know where to begin my praise for Senior Support Solutions (I could write a novel). I was in a difficult situation with my mom in Arizona and me and my husband living in Oregon. Mom was having health issues and was in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities. This was causing major stress for me as I am solely responsible for her care. Then my husband found Senior Support Solutions and from the minute Suzanne came on the scene things changed dramatically.

With Suzanne’s expertise she helped navigate through the medical system in Arizona and got mom set up with new providers that were more suited to her care. She has helped mom sort through her bills and make sure everything is as it should be. Senior Support Solutions is a dream come true for me and mom loves the services they provide. I highly recommend them for senior care.

Now it’s time for my care

Twenty years ago, as my mother gradually succumbed to Alzheimer’s Disease, and I became responsible for her care, I found the services of a Geriatric Care Manager to be indispensable in navigating our way through the complex healthcare system so that she might receive the (constantly changing) care she needed. It’s 20 years later, now, and I find myself having to navigate the healthcare system for myself in order to receive the care I need.

Once again, I have found a Geriatric Care Manager with Senior Support Solutions, to be invaluable, both for the knowledge and the services provided. It’s not easy growing older, particularly assuring that complicated healthcare needs are met in a timely manner. Senior Support Solutions has helped me in accomplishing that, and relieved me of a great deal of work and anxiety.

Needed a new place to live

Senior Support Solutions has been great in helping me find an Independent Living facility. I was living in a senior apartment complex in Sun City, Arizona. However, my family contacted Senior Support Solutions and asked for their help in locating a facility for me to help ensure my safety and comfort as well as give me the opportunity to interact with others and become involved in planned activities.

They found the perfect facility for me and even remembered my mentioning that I would like to live near a lake. I enjoy my new place very much and will continue to work with Senior Support Solutions to help meet my future needs, including having them accompany me to my medical appointments, consult with my physicians, and keep my family informed of my status.

Uncle at a distance during COVID

I hired Senior Support Solutions [in 2020] to oversee medications and doctor visits for my then 93-yr-old uncle as I live 2000 miles away.  When he broke his hip during Covid and I was kept away until I could get the vaccine and travel to him, they were my eyes and ears throughout his hospital and rehab stays. As my uncle could not go back to independent living, Senior Support Solutions investigated and visited assistant living facilities and found one that would fit his needs.  They then arranged to move some of his furniture so his new place would have familiarity when he was released from rehab.

Suzanne and her staff continue to go way above and beyond in their care for my uncle. They have “adopted” him and treat him like a family member- they have taken him fishing, taken him to his favorite restaurant for lunch, and even have taken him to watch the Super Bowl at one of their homes.  They continue to ensure he has mental stimulation and social interaction in addition to his medical needs. Their services are priceless!

Stepped right in with immediate help

Several months ago, our not-so-old uncle began to have serious health issues. We live in Southern California, he lives in Phoenix, Arizona. Although friends and neighbors tried to be helpful and I made several trips to see him while he was in the hospital and took him to doctor appointments, this path was not sustainable as he needed constant care.

Not a candidate for assisted living, we followed a recommendation of a friend and contacted Senior Support Solutions. Best decision ever! [Our care manager] took over. She immediately assessed our uncle’s needs, began organizing medication, coordinating appointments, checking the safety of his home, listening to our concerns and his fears. Counselor, friend, professional, [she] continues to be this and so very much more.

Of course I am still active in our uncle’s care, but with a partner who keeps me informed all of the time. I am happy to report a dramatic improvement in our uncle’s health and I know that would not have happened without the consistent care that [they are] providing.
